TEDxSanaa: Yemen’s first TEDx event

TEDxSanaa conference work team got the official permission from the original TED conference in America to organize this event. It is considered one of the most important conferences that concern to introduce the innovative ideas for the people around the world in especial way to create an inspiring situation that helps in understanding some of the issues, motivates the creative and positive thinking towards other issues, and benefit from the experiences of others, each in his field and through his own experience.

The inspiring meaning that TED talks provide became the prime motivate and the strong desire behind the work team in order to get a license to set up this conference in Sana’a.

This conference aims to introduce Yemen to the world in a different picture and it is also expected to contribute in restoring the confidence within the community by showing its’ people capabilities and abilities in construction and development.
Moreover it will attract the most creative, inspiring and influential Yemenis who own an exceptional ideas and it will be an excellent opportunity for them to present their ideas extensively to the community and to the world as the main conference TED translates those talks into more than 70 languages through a huge team up to 3,000 volunteers of translators and publishes them in its’ official website. The letter X which followed TED means that the event is independently organized since TED evaluates the conference through a variety and strict conditions – covering all the requirements of such conferences- the possibility and the worth grant the city or other regulation permit or obscured it.

The current work in organizing this conference is a non-profit voluntary work, and the team members gathered around it in order to achieve the objectives that have been described above, believing that there should be a positive model, creative and innovative thinking to make a quality moves within the community, therefore this event should be a common concern of all, especially the youth who are being reliable on, in communities advancement and making a radical changes.

TEDx conference is being held in many Arab and Islamic cities once per year per city, there is a conference in Cairo, another in Muscat and third in Dubai, fourth in Ramallah, fifth in Beirut and recently Mogadishu entered the line of the TEDX world conferences and was able to organize this event which deserved to be commendable because of its’ hugely successful, in addition to many other cities that organized TEDx such as Riyadh and Jeddah, Khartoum and Doha, Kuala Lumpur and other cities
